▧ SaveDesk
Make room for good ideas

Your saved internet.

Find the thing you saved. Make time for the things you love.

No new account. No installation.

From “saved for later”
to right here.

Bring your X likes into a calm, searchable library. You don’t need GitHub or any coding experience.

The cards below are fictional examples. Your files stay in this browser.
⌘ K

Your imports and reading progress stay in this browser. Use to keep a copy.

A few simple steps

Bring your saves along.

Choose the path that fits. You can try the examples while X prepares your archive.

1

Get your likes from X

In X, open Settings and privacy → Your account → Download an archive of your data. Request your archive, then download it when X tells you it’s ready.

Open X’s step-by-step instructions ↗
2

Choose your file

Already have it? Select your X archive ZIP or the like.js file inside its data folder. We read the likes files and skip the other archive entries.

A SaveDesk backup works too. ZIPs up to 200 MB; JSON and JS files up to 50 MB. Your archive is read on this device. If you sign in, imported saves sync to your account.

3

Find your next good read

Search, add topics, and mark posts as read. Come back in this browser, or sign in on a configured site to sync across devices.

Looking for your bookmarks?

X archives may not include them. You can add a compatible bookmarks export. Direct X sign-in is available only on a site whose owner has configured it.

For people setting up their own site

Optional X sign-in requires a developer app and a server. Read the setup guide ↗.

Make yourself at home

A small guide to SaveDesk.

  1. Add your saves. Choose an X archive, an export, or a SaveDesk backup. No GitHub account is needed.
  2. Find an idea. Search words, use @ for an author or # for a topic, or choose a filter. Press ⌘/Ctrl+K to jump to search.
  3. Make it yours. Add topics and mark posts as read. The Unread tab keeps your next reads together.
  4. Take a few ideas elsewhere. Select cards and choose “Copy for an AI chat.” Paste the text into any chat you choose. Nothing is sent automatically.
  5. Keep or share a copy. Download a backup for yourself, or a shareable page for someone else. They can open that page in a browser.

Without an account, your library lives in this browser. Sign-in on a configured site syncs your account library across devices. Keep a backup for an extra copy.

Keep the good stuff

Keep a copy. Pass an idea along.

A backup for you

Save your library, topics, and reading progress. To restore it on any device, open SaveDesk and choose the backup file.

A page you can share

Download a searchable HTML page of your collection. Send the file however you like; the recipient can open it in a browser, without SaveDesk or GitHub.

Includes post text, authors, and topics. Anyone with the file can read it. Your reading progress is left out.

Advanced: publish a website

For people hosting SaveDesk, download the public data file and follow the publishing guide ↗.

Pick up where you left off

Your saves. All your devices.

Your library, wherever you are.

Sign in to keep a private library across your phone, tablet, and computer. Connecting X to import likes and bookmarks is a separate step.

Sign-in is not enabled on this site yet. You can still import files, organize your saves, and use backups without an account.
